Scouts
“Trustworthy, Loyal, Helpful, Friendly, Courteous, Kind, Obedient, Cheerful, Thrifty, Brave, Clean and Reverent...” Troop 65 is sponsored by Philadelphia Presbyterian Church. As a troop, they have achieved over 65 years of adventures in scouting while serving the Mint Hill community. Troop 65 is a patrol based, boy-led Troop, which strives to teach the principles of scouting with key focus on the Scout Law and Scout Oath. Currently Troop 65 is over 50 boys strong who are aided by adult scouters, the "Old Fossil" patrol, as well as an active committee, comprised of numerous parents and adults. Troop 65 is affiliated with Cub Pack 65. If you would like more information about Boy Scouts, please contact Matt Hall, Troop 65 ScoutMaster, or Shaun Cross, Pack 65 CubMaster.
Girl Scouts
Today, Girl Scouts of the USA has a membership of over 3.2 million girls and adults and PPC is thrilled to be part of that legacy, sponsoring of Troop 1333. The Girls scouts of PPC meet in our Chapel building each week. They go camping, and have even travelled to Savannah, Georgia to the home of the founder of the Girl Scouts, Juliette Gordon Low. Oh, and they don’t just sell cookies, they faithfully serve in the community, and pride themselves on forming forever friendships. Those friendships are what give Girl Scouts the confidence to be themselves, unapologetically. It’s what makes them feel safe enough to try new things and cheer each other on in tough times. If you are interested in finding out more about what amazing opportunities are available to young girls through scouting, contact Marnie Gallagher, troop leader.
