Mark Mueller

Acting Head of Staff

Pastor Mark grew up in Elmore, Minnesota, a small town in southern Minnesota, population 400. He was born and baptized into a Missouri Synod Lutheran Church and became a Presbyterian five years after marrying his wife, Toby. His grandfather was a Lutheran pastor. He and his wife just recently moved to the Charlotte area and are building a home on Lake Wylie. He brings with him a wealth of experience and is currently serving as the Executive Director of The Outreach Foundation. Here at PPC, Pastor Mark provides organizational oversight with the church and staff, ensuring that the church functions as a unified body of believers bound in faith through Jesus Christ. Additionally, he mentors our Student Pastor, Pastor Rich. In his spare time he trains for Iron Man Races (a type of triathlon) and he enjoys reading. He and his wife, Rev. Dr. Toby Mueller, have two married daughters and five grandchildren.

Rich Lambert

Student Pastor

Pastor Rich grew up in Western Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan. His hometown is known for fruit farming (apples, blueberries, and black cherries) and salmon fishing. He moved to North Carolina from Texas in 2014. Pastor Rich grew up in a Swedish Baptist church, though his family is not Swedish. He became a Presbyterian and refomed after college. While the Baptist Church taught him how to believe the Bible, the Presbyterians weren't afraid of his questions about the Bible. Here at PPC Pastor Rich is serving as our Student Pastor as he awaits ordination. What that means is, he can do everything an ordained pastor can do except preside over weddings, administer the sacraments, and moderate the session. He is like an intern on steroids! In his spare time you just might find Pastor Rich in the kitchen dabbling with Moroccan cuisine, making paella, or trying his hand at an authentic Italian dish. He's currently trying to teach himself to speak Italian. He is quite adventerous, having hunted for anaconda in the Amazon - in a river!! - and has waterskiied in an alligator infested swamp in Louisiana. Pastor Rich and his wife, Jennifer have two daughters, Reilly and Madigan.

Katie Perkins Sloan

COMMISSIONED PASTOR

Pastor Katie grew up in Massachusetts, in the historic city of Newburyport, where the mouth of the Merrimac River flows into the Atlantic Ocean. She learned how to walk on the sandy beaches of Plum Island, so it’s no wonder she feels most at home near the water. Pastor Katie's family roots run deep in the Presbyterian church having been raised in one of the oldest Presbyterian churches in New England –the Old South Presbyterian. She has lived in Charlotte, North Carolina for more than 28 years, but she will always be a New Englander at heart. Here at PPC, Pastor Katie focuses on connectional relationships and communication and how we live that out inside and outside the walls of the church as faithful disciples of Christ. She believes in reaching people right where they are in life. Pastor Katie is passionate about walking along side members and those in the community during the joys and hurts in their life. She believes one of the greatest gifts you can give someone is to listen with the heart of Jesus – because everyone is worthy and everyone has something they can teach us. One of the highlights of her week is chapel with the preschool. Pastor Katie has three grown stepchildren. She loves a good cup of coffee, all genres of music, New England sports teams (sorry Carolina fans), and on her day off she can be found fishing, reading, or experimenting in the kitchen. She is trying to learn to speak Spanish.

Shane Sledd

MINISTER OF YOUTH & FAMILIES

Shane grew up in southwest Virginia in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains where he lived until 2015 when he and his wife Emily relocated to Charlotte to continue working in student ministry. Here at PPC Shane works to create safe and meaningful relationships with our youth and their families, while helping each student develop their own deep connection with Jesus Christ. Shane thrives when he spends time outside the church walls with families and students, getting to know them on a more personal level. Shane’s creativity and leadership skills have helped our basketball ministry grow into much more than basketball.  Young men are mentored and challenged. He is a huge Washington Nationals  baseball fan.  Shane and Emily are on a mission to visit every national baseball park in the US. In his spare time, he enjoys watching sports, playing video games, and working out in the gym. Shane and Emily have a daughter, Rayna and two dogs and a cat.
